Il DNA è la molecola organica molto importante per ogni organismo vivente, essa contiene l’informazione genetica che fa di un organismo o di una cellula ciò che è.
Il DNA (o acido deossiribonucleico) è costituito da uno zucchero da un acido fosforico e da 4 basi azotate, è conservato nelle cellule degli organismi semplici e nel nucleo di ogni organismo vivente superiore.
Nel nostro punto visita impareremo ad estrarre e purificare il DNA da un frutto con semplici strumenti e prodotti presenti nelle nostre case.
I motivi per cui si estrae il DNA sono vari: per modificare geneticamente una specie vegetale, per scoprire le impronte genetiche di un assassino CSI, per scoprire nuove specie. Vedremo il DNA nella sua forma “precipitata” (filamentosa) e con l’aiuto della grafica molecolare vedremo la struttura reale.

DNA (or deoxyribonucleic acid) consists of a phosphoric acid, a sugar and 4 complementary nitrogenous bases, it is stored in the cells of “simple” organisms and in the nucleus of every living organism.
In our visit point we will learn to extract and purify DNA from a fruit with simple tools and products present in our homes.
The reasons why DNA is extracted are various: to genetically modify a plant species, to discover the genetic fingerprints of a CSI killer, to discover new species. We will see DNA in its "precipitated" (filamentous) form and with the help of molecular graphics we will see the real DNA structure.
